LISA D. JOHNSON

CEO & GENERAL MANAGER, SEMINOLE ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE, TAMPA

Headquartered in Tampa, Seminole Electric Cooperative is one of the largest generation and transmission cooperatives in the country. About 2 million people and businesses in 42 Florida counties rely on electricity provided by Seminole and delivered by its nine members, which are distribution cooperatives. It has about 400 employees, and Johnson has been CEO for 12 years.

EDUCATION: Duke University (BS)

FIRST JOB: My very first job (while still in high school) was as a lifeguard and Water Babies swimming instructor at our local swim club.

DREAM ALTERNATE CAREER: I would be a veterinarian.

SOMETHING SURPRISING: I have lived in 13 states.

HOBBY: I love to collect artwork from local artists here at home and when I travel.

NONPROFIT PASSION: Project Healing Waters helps active military service personnel and veterans in need through a dedicated, developed curriculum of fly fishing, fly casting, fly tying and fly rod building. My dad served in the Army and was an avid fly fisherman his entire life. We both shared a passion for the mission of this organization. I make an annual contribution to Project Healing Waters in his memory.
